Tier 2 General Dependant visa - Lost BRP

Post by RamyaA » Mon Nov 27, 2017 12:06 pm

Hi All,

I am currently on a Tier 2 General 3 years visa.
My husband and child applied for a switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General Dependent visa. We have filled the applications and paid the fee (2600 + IHS)yesterday. Today I couldn't find my child's BRP card (Tier 2 ICT dependent visa)and looks like I lost it:(

We need to submit the passports, photographs and BRP card for Tier 2 General Dependent visa with in 15 days.

1.Should we send all the remaining documents by post and write a covering letter explaining the situation ?
2. Send all the documents and remain silent about BRP card?
3. Should we apply for a Replacement brp card which would take 8 weeks ? Premium service as well would take more than 10 working days !
4. What is the possibility of the visa refusal/rejection?
5. In case of refusal/rejection, how much amount would be refunded?
6. Can I request more time for the replacement BRP card to come?

Please help and let me know your suggestions ?

Thanks,
Ramya

1. Yes. If you have a photocopy you can attach that too.

2. No, explain otherwise HO might write to you asking for it.

3. Not if you are applying to switch visas.

4. Unlikely, a new visa application does not depend wholly on a previous BRP card be submitted.

5. IHS fee only, you would lose the application fee.

6. Not necessary.

Thank you very much for the response, much appreciated.
we have the photo copies, we will go ahead and submit the documents.

Do we need to give a police complaint for the lost BRP card ? Having a doubt as we are applying for a switch.

Should we call/email separately to the Home office informing that we lost my child's BRP card ? If so, the status of the current BRP would be cancelled ? Does it give raise any issues with the visa switch ?

Thanks again,
Ramya

I understand they no longer deal with these reports/complaints anymore.

You do need to report it to HO so that the card can be cancelled. The CARD is cancelled not the STATUS.

Thank you very much Admin.

We have got our Tier 2 General dependant visa stamped in a month. They didn't ask us about the lost BRP card. We have submitted the BRP photocopy, police complaint reference number and reported the loss to HO.
