PLEASE HELP - Valid until date wrong on my Visa?

Hello all,

I just received my spouse visa (I'm a US citizen) in the mail today, but noticed that its valid from 8/12/17 and valid until 07/01/2018. Is this a misprint or am I interpreting this wrong? I'm reading it as I have a spouse visa for less than 30 days! I'm in a panic as I'm about to book my flight for a couple weeks out. Please help! Thank you.

That's just your entry clearance, you'll pick up your resident permit when you get to the UK sir!

You have a spouse visa vignette for 30 days (8th December to 7th January). This is normal. You collect your Biometric Residence Permit with the full visa validity from your nominated Post Office within 10 days of arriving in the UK. You should have received a letter telling you this.

You must enter the UK between the dates of the visa you have in your passport.
