Immigration advice needed spouse

Hi. I just want to make an inquiry. I am British citizen and married to German illegal migrant. We got married in a mosque in Germany I want to bring over to UK to leave together as husband and wife. I just want to know how to go about it. Many thanks

Presumably an illegal immigrant who is not German and not a German illegal immigrant.

You will need to apply for a spouse visa and meet all the requirements.

Your spouse will need a passport or similar.

Also, is your mosque ceremony recognised by the German authorities as a marriage or do you need to do a separate civil marriage for legal recognition? If the latter, has the civil marriage taken place as well?

Have you exercised treaty rights (worked, sought jobs, studied, etc) for at least three months in Germany? How long have you resided in Germany?

Hi. Thanks for your quick reply. I live in UK and am British citizen but my husband is a Ghanaian who lives in Germany and he has no paper in Germany. We are married and want to live togather in UK but I do know where to start from. Could please advise me.

Spouse visa and he will need a passport and will have to apply from a country he has legal residence. As he has no papers in Germany, unlikely he will be able to apply from there.

Do you earn a minimum of £18,600pa?

He needs to meet the English A1 test requirement too from and HO approved test provider?

secret.simon's question is also very important as if the mosque/islamic marriage is not recognised and valid in Germany, the UK won't acknowledge it either.
