Finally!

Post by timco » Tue Nov 28, 2017 11:22 pm

My wife's ILR turned up this morning 7 months after the application was submitted via the Dudley council checking service (waste of money really).

About 6 weeks ago they asked us to provide a paper copy of the SELTS certificate, why have no idea thought it was all supposed to be electronic now. Fairly simple case we are married have been for nearly 5 years now (on the old track not the new one) got turned down last time because she had not proved her English was good enough. She is an interpreter for the NHS! Was given another 2 year one instead.

Thank you to all those who have offered help, guidance and assistance on this you have been the light in the darkest, most depressing and dehumanizing process I have ever been through.

The ILR is only for 7 years but with a bit of research this may be normal and a new 3 year one will follow in 2024 hopefully this is correct!

again thank you all

If she is not going to apply for citizenship and remain on ILR, a new card won't just 'follow'. You will have to apply for a new BRP card which will then likely be a 10 year validity ILR BRP.
