WHAT FORM SHOULD I USE TO APPLY FOR ILR.

Post by Mukasa » Thu Dec 07, 2017 1:21 pm

Hi there,
I am trying to find out what form to use to apply for ILR. I was granted DLR in 2011 following the home office to decline my asylum case. We went to court and the immigration judge accepted my appeal under article 8 grounds and in particular relating to my then 4-year-old daughter.
I was then granted 3 years after the successful appeal. When the 3 years ran out I applied again for extension and was granted another 3 years but I didn’t have to pay a fee as I had been granted DLR in court. Now the additional time is coming to an end and I have an opportunity to apply for ILR as I would have lapsed 6 years with DLR. (total number of years of residence 14 yrs in the system even though previously I was not granted any leave as I was a minor and was placed in social services)
Now, what form should I use to make a postal application for ILR and am I required to have done the life in the UK test. Previously I was not required to even have an English test as I have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in Aeronautical engineering from a UK institution.
Am caught between the FLR (DL) and the SET(O) forms. Any help and advice offered is highly appreciated in advance

Thanks Mkhari,

Is quick question the SET(O) only for premium services? Would you go for the premium at an expense of £600 more or settle for the postal and be £600 better off.

Just to clarify to avoid any confusion a member might have, the extra £590 each is on top of the £2,297 each for ILR.
