Online application help please

Post by Lyncha » Fri Dec 08, 2017 2:55 pm

Hello.
I’m a British citizen, husband is American and we are about to come to the end of the first 30 months FLR (m).
Is it correct that we need to apply for FLR (m) again?
In completing the online form it asked about my children who are British Citzeans and from a previous marriage. Current Husband (the applicant) has no parental responsibility for them.
However the online form is forcing me to tick a box stating that I will provide an adoption certificate saying that the applicant has adopted them. Have I made an error on the form. I’ve spent an hour going over and over this and can not figure out what has went wrong. Husbands visa expires on Jan 3rd, so with Christmas and new year holidays we are very limited in time.
Please help if you can.
Thank you.

We cannot see what you are seeing. Any reference we provide will be from the FLR(M) paper form, which might be easier for you to complete.

Thank you. At least we are applying for the correct visa. It’s the section that asks if I (the sponsor/spouse) have and children living in the UK and not applying on the visa.
To be honest I’ve gotten myself a bit upset with this form and my husband will need to have a look at it and see if he can figure out what I’ve done when he gets home from work. I’ve not been this stressed for a long time.
Thank you for the reassurance.

You need to declare children, even those NOT applying for a visa. However, if you decide to use the paper form, then we can answer better as we can see what you are asking.

It is getting ridiculous now. The online application is asking for a utility bill of my ex husbands to prove the children’s dad’s address (he said no) and now it wants to know the dates of every overseas holiday that my kids who are British citizens have ever been on (I do not have this information). I have spent another hour in tears. I think I’m going to have to do this on paper as if we go this way the application will fail.
