can you apply for FLR(M) before 30 months and with in 28 days of expiry date?

Post by rajaf » Mon Dec 11, 2017 1:18 pm

hello everyone,

I'm new and this is my first post.

My wife was granted a spouse visa 23/03/2015

she came to the uk 24/07/15 (4 months later)

visa expires 23/12/2017

this means 29months in the UK can we still apply for flr(m)

the reason for the delay in arriving is because our daughter's passport was delayed in arriving at the British embassy in Pakistan (13months from application) and we flew to the UK the same day it arrived.

Yes. Not sure why you think you might not be able to.

thank you for the help and quick reply

I was confused because some posts to say must apply after 30 months within 28 days.

I'm still kind of confused I see lots of post talking about when you can apply but non where it talks about how long you must be in the UK before applying for flrm.

There is no hard rule but ideally, to avoid an additional extension to make up a shortfall, applications should usually be done once you have completed or almost completed 2.5 years residence, counted from date of entry to the UK.
