UK immigration for none EU National

Hi,

My long term girlfriend (None EU National) and I (UK National) are looking into our options.

We originally booked to go to the UK in January on a tourist visa, however since then we have decided to get married.

1: If we get married in her home country can she still enter the UK on a tourist visa?
- Can we then convert to the required family visa (or whatever she needs as my wife without having to leave the UK?)
- When can we apply to change the visa?

2: If we get married in the UK, right now we do not have time to apply for a marriage visa if we are travelling in January. Can we change visa whilst in the UK from tourist to marriage visa?

She would have to prove to the IO that she is a 'genuine tourist'. Difficult when traveling with her spouse back into the UK. She cannot switch to any other visa category if she is in the UK as visitor. She must apply for a spouse visa from her home country.
