FLR(M) married partner - less than 2 years living together

Post by magill » Wed Dec 13, 2017 5:07 pm

Hi,

My wife is applying for a Spouse Visa, we're unsure about what evidence we need to supply in relation to proof of living together.

I'm born British, shes Chinese and been on a tier 2 working visa for 4 years.

We have been living together for about 1.5 years. I "technically" lived at home before this while
She rented (In the UK).

Do we need to provide proof of address for the past 2 years or only for the time we've lived together?

So far we are providing
  • Both
Multiple Bank statements from Joint Account over the 1.5 years

    Her
    Doctors Letter
    Phone Contract letter
Seperate Bank Statement from personal account
    Sky Bill

    Me
    Pension Letters
    Tax Summary
    Phone Contract Letter
    Seperate Bank Statement
Will we have to submit proof of address from before this period of living together?

There is no requirement of '2 years living together' if you are married. This mandatory requirement is for Unmarried Partner visas.

Simply submit what you have since marriage to prove subsisting relationship and cohabitation.

Hi CR001, just to clarify, to date, as along as I am married to my wife we do not need to provide evidence of 2 years living together? I have been worried about this!

And evidence of subsisting relationship and cohabitation is sufficient?

Note: I will be making my application early May 2018
Thanks.

1. Kindly refrain from digging up old topics, not related to your circumstances. The poster in this thread was newly married and switching in country to a spouse visa so slightly different rules apply.

2. I will comment in your topic.
