MIL Visit Visa Rejected

Post by bathanza » Fri Dec 15, 2017 11:23 am

MIL applied for a 6 month's visa and was rejected: stating they are not satisfied that she will leave the UK.

She has a clean immigration history, has been in the UK 7 times and never overstayed. The previous visa was a 2-year visa. Idea was to apply a 6-month one so she can have a quick visit to a family wedding.

She has no intent to stay in the UK (She doesn't like the weather) but solid proof of her ties to the country would probably need to be beefed up, advice would be appreciated.

Family ties include a very ageing 90 odd-year-old (and well sparked) mother, sister, brother in law, 100's of families. She has land, property and strong ties. She hasn't had a problem with visiting before so it's really annoying, was hoping she would be here for NYEs

Husband's timeline - overstayer 11 yrs
08/16 - FLR (FP) Partner, refused 02/18, 03/18 - JR permission refused with merit
08/18 - FLR FP (Partner) PSC - Approved
07/20 - FLR FP to FLR M Switch - Approved, 03/23 FLR M Ext Approved.

What was the exact refusal reason stated?

What evidence of ties to home country did she submit?

How long were here previous visits (each one)?

Presumably the FLR(FP) issue you are currently going through might not have helped.

Agreed on the FLR FP, will find out more details from her. They have a solicitor in the home country so can hopefully deal with it. Unfortunate to be honest. Perhaps a 5 year one would have been better to make it more realistic that she wants to enter and leave?

Makes no difference, exactly the same evidence would have been required.
