This is absolutely fine. You can put 31st Dec date of travel.yylifeintheuk wrote: ↑Mon Dec 18, 2017 5:26 pmHi all,
Need advice and help on this urgently.
My CoS start date stated 01/01/2018, however, I agreed with my employer to start on 22 Jan 2018. Is it ok for this case?
The Date of Intended Travel,
Should I put on 31 Dec 2017 and I enter the UK on 20 Jan 2018?
or
Do I fill in 20 Jan 2018 as per my plan?
Kindly advice.
Thanks
Applied together with wife and son, travel together to might be easier than apply separately lateryylifeintheuk wrote: ↑Thu Dec 14, 2017 3:46 pmHi all,
I went through the form and need some advice so I am filling correct information.
Need advice on below:
1- Country of Residence: (Your permanent Country of residence)
I am from Malaysia and working in Hong Kong on an employment visa, I am a resident in Hong Kong, but not a permanent resident. I think I should fill in Hong Kong on this one but the description stated "Your permanent Country of residence".
2- Date of planned arrival in the UK
This should be the date I plan to enter the UK, not the employment start date right?
3- How long do you intend to stay in the UK?
What should I fill in for this, CoS expiry date?
4- What is your permanent residential address and contact details?
This should be my Malaysia home address right?
5- Have you made an application to the Home Office to remain in the UK in the last 10 years?
I applied tier 4 student visa extension on year 2009 when i studied in the UK, so the answer should be "YES"?
6- The next one is Please enter details.
Date of application:
Type of application:
Home Office Reference Number:
I forgot on the date of application, what I am sure is before my tier 4 visa expired. I still have the BRP with me, I don't have any Home Office Reference Number too. The type of application should be Tier 4 Student Visa? This question is mandatory, but I dont have the date and the HO reference number.
7- Have you spent more than 12 months in a country, consecutively or cumulatively, other than your current location, in the past 10 years? (or since reaching the age of 18 if less)? Have you travelled outside of your country of residence, excluding to the UK, in the last 10 years? Remember to check if you are covered by the Criminal Record Certificate requirement and if so, obtain certificates from each country you have stayed in, for 12 months or more, either continuously or in total, in the last 10 years, while over the age of 18.
My current location is Hong Kong, so does it mean my home country Malaysia here or the other way round? My job code is IT programmer, I check my job code on HO website does not require Criminal Record Certificate, just to verify again here that I no need to submit this right?
8- Will your spouse/partner be travelling with you?
For my dependant (wife and son), they will not follow me on this time, they will come after 3 months i settle, but I will make the applicaiton together this time. So for this one is it YES or NO because they will not come with me this time, but after 3 months.
9- Have you taken more than one months leave in the last year?
On tier 2 skilled worker section, what does it mean by this question? I think is a NO, I do not have any leave taken more than a month.
10- Point claimed
Mine is uCoS and pass RLMT, I am Master graduate from UK, so I get my english language by submitting original cert, maintenance certified by employer. What is the point I need to enter on this area?
Certificate of Sponsorship (shortage occupation): 0
Certificate of Sponsorship (resident labour market test):
Certificate of Sponsorship (job offer with salary of £159,600 or more): 0
Appropriate Salary:
English language:
Maintenance:
Total:
Thanks for helping on the questions.

You are looking at a post from 2010 and completely different to your circumstances as that OP wanted to enter the UK as a tourist.yylifeintheuk wrote: ↑Wed Dec 27, 2017 4:44 pmHi,
I saw the reply from moderator on this post, stated
"And make sure that you have your Tier 2 visa activated on the day you start your job (starting date mentioned in CoS) i.e.- you enter UK on Tier 2 visa before starting date of employment"
May I know for my case, my CoS start date is 01/01/2018, but my contract of employment stated 22 Jan 2018, do I need to inform HR to update HO on this? My date to enter UK would be 18 Jan 2018, is it ok for my case? My vignette valid from 24 Dec and expired 23 Jan.
Thanks.
