British citizen & my wife on Tier 2 dependents

Post by Na123 » Tue Dec 26, 2017 12:32 am

Hello There

I was on Tier 2 (Intra Company Transfer) and got British citizenship in Dec 2015, my children got the ILR in June 2015 but my wife still on Tier 2 dependents as she was unsuccessful in KoLL ( English & Life in the UK)

My wife got 3 years extension on Tier 2 dependents expiring in Jan 2019, UK is our permanent resident country and we bought our own house shared name between me and my wife,

Now I got a very good offer to work overseas, my wife and children will stay in the UK and I will visit them every couple of months,

As my wife on a dependent visa, does this affect my wife residency status or her entitlement for ILR in the future?

Alternatively, can I take a short-term job like 6-8 months and return before her application for the extension?

What is the best way of any, that I can work overseas for long or short-term without affecting my wife residency status?

Thanks,

vinny

Your working outside the UK may complicate things.
It's best that your wife passes the KoLL and apply for ILR (and subsequent British citizenship) as soon as possible.

Thanks Vinny , for sure best she pass the KoLL and apply for ILR but I am afraid this might take time, but for now what is the legal issue if I work outside the UK for 6 months ?
