Help!

Post by wentots » Mon Jan 01, 2018 4:05 pm

Hi,

My wife just received her spouse visa last week and I was thinking of applying a joint account on both of our names but I have a very bad credit rating and missed payments I don’t want to tarnish her credit rating.

Is joint bank account mandatory requirement for a visa extension Or is there any other way to prove bills payed on both of our names?

Thank you, just thinking a head of time.

No a joint bank account is NOT mandatory.

Other bills could be utilities, council tax etc.

Read page 63/64 of the FLR(M) form to see the examples of what HO expect to see.

We are going to live with my parents, would it be alright if we pay council tax and water bills on both of our names?

Thank yoi for answering my question, I didnt want to ruin my wifes credit rating so joint account is a no no for us.

Yes it is fine.

You can also look at the other examples. Everything does not have to be in joint names either. HO accept evidence addressed individually.

Yes and collect her BRP card from the Post Office once she has arrived.
