Visa renewal

Hello. I just got here in london last november 2016 im from the Philippines and recently join my parent and my passport is expiring in may 2018.

I was just wondering what do i need to do.
I have my visa type on To join Parent (s)
And observation saying no recourse to public funds.
My visa is valid the same time as my passport do i need to renew my visa or do i just staple my old passport with the new one? Im really confused im sorry for the trouble. Can someone help me please.

Usually a passport can be renewed at any time before of its expiry by visiting the relevant local embassy/consulate/passport office. Then old & new passport can be stapled together and then send both to homeoffice when extending visa.

Wouldn't recommend stapling passports together. A microchip is usually embedded in the back cover of a biometric passport. Stapling may damage it or make the passports harder to scan or photocopy.

Just carry both.
