Dependency Visa

Post by dineshkumar1789 » Mon Jan 08, 2018 3:34 pm

Hello,
I currently live in UK on Tier 2 (General) visa sponsored by my employee. I am originally from India and hold an Indian passport. I am engaged with a Newzeland citizen who holds a Newzeland passport and lives in Auckland. We are getting married in India in July and will get a Registration of Marriage (RoM) certificate from India.

My question is if my fiancée can apply for a dependency visa in India or should she fly back to the country to which she holds a passport to (Newzeland), to do the biometrics and submit the application along with the the supporting documents after the wedding. In addition to that, will the RoM from India be sufficient to submit the application in Newzeland.

Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Your fiance must apply in the country they have legal residence, i.e. not in a country as a visitor.

Thanks for your reply. Should a marriage certificate from India be sufficient to apply for the visa in Newzeland? Thanks again.

Should be fine but you will have to submit an official translation if it is not in English.
