Tier 1 General Main applicant after April 6, 2018

Post by ukpe2020HO » Tue Jan 09, 2018 10:23 am

What is way forward for Tier 1 General Main applicant after April 6, 2018. I will complete 5 five years by July 2018. My leave to remain was extended to then. How does the April 6, 2018 dead line affect me? I am i to wait for July to extend or join the April 6, 2018 dead line (but i would be less than 5 years.

Thanks.

You won't be able to apply for ILR after this date.

What is your full immigration history, including visas held, start and expiry dates and date you entered the UK and any long absences?

Tier 1G 3 year extension applications accepted until 6th April 2015. So that anyone who applied to extend can ONLY apply for an ILR before 6th April 2018. You extented visa period could be valid for longer but you MUST apply before the cut off if you want to get ILR.

No. However, dependants cannot extend beyond the leave of the Main Tier 1 (General) holder.

Vany and CR001,

Thanks a million for your feedbacks. I would like to some clarity on my specific situation.
My Tier 1 dependents have leave to remain (LTR) till July 2018. I want to delay the their application for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) till July 2018 to ensure the have the complete 5 years. Does the dependents still have to complete the continuous 5 years?
I (the main applicant) would applying before April 6. Would i be able to apply for my dependents ILR (after April 6 2018 but before the LTR expired in July 2018) during my application process period (if the process take longer till July)?

Thanks.
Regards,
Ukpe
