90-day absences question

Post by magenta1003123 » Thu Jan 11, 2018 6:01 pm

hello,

so after 5 years in the UK i finally got my PR effective 1st October 2017. This means i can apply for citizenship from the 1st October 2018 onwards

if i happen to exceed the 90 days absences in these 12 month period Oct 17 - Oct 18 (due to a short work assignment) - does that mean i can just postpone my application by a month or two until a meet the requirement? I.e apply in Dec 2018 i/o October 2018, so that the immediate 12 months prior to application date will be in line with the rule? Or i have to wait another year after 1st Oct 2018 (apply Oct 2019)?

Just getting confused because they keep referring to the Qualifying Period - but i dont know if that QP runs yearly (for me that starts 1st Oct each year), or could be rolling?

thank you
