Citizenship for Indian born dependent child

Post by Bhavpate » Fri Jan 12, 2018 12:48 pm

Hi,

Me and my wife both have ILR and my Daughter is eligible for ILR in 2018 only. is it possible that we can directly go for Citizenship instead of ILR for her.
My daughters birth place is in India.

Thanks

Why did you not apply for your daughter when you and your wife applied for ILR?? How old is your daughter?? There is no minimum residence requirement for children. Did you apply for ILR visa the PBS route? What is the exact 'dependent' visa your daughter currently holds and when does it expire?

No you cannot. Children born abroad are expected to hold ILR and can only apply for citizenship when the parents apply or after parents are already British.
