family visa question: only have Joint account with father instead of having sole account

Post by chedward » Sun Jan 14, 2018 11:56 pm

I am a British citizen and recenly moved back to UK. I am now helping my wife to apply for a spouse visa this month.
My wife and I both have a total of £50,000 and plus her monthly income of at least £800 for the past six months. We hope this should satisfy the financial requirement. ( At least according to some of the visa calculators, we should be fine)
However the money I have is in a joint account with my father, instead of a sole account. And this is the only bank account I have in UK.I had my father declared that that the account is under my sole control, especially he doesn’t live in UK. I wonder if this can work.

Is your wife applying from abroad?

If yes, her income is irrelevant.

She is working in UK. And we have already prepared the payslips for the past 8 months , contract and employer’s letter.
It is my joint bank account with my father that bothers me.

What application exactly is your wife submitting? What category of visa does she hold at present :?:

She is currently holding a student visa and we are hoping to switch to family visa.

What work is she doing being on a student visa and how many hours per week does she work?

You state you have just recently moved back to the UK? Where were you before returning?

How long have you been married and where did you get married?

How long has your spouse been in the UK and how long is her student visa valid for (visa start and end date)??
