Getting married on a Tier 4 Student Visa

Hi,

My girlfriend is from the USA and is currently on a Tier 4 Student Visa, before her current visa expires (next year), we want to apply for a Spouse Visa which from what I understand is 2 x 2.5 years, which therefore means that its 5 years. I was wondering what the process is upon completion of the 5 years on the spouse visa in order to obtain ILR?

As she would have lived in the UK for 8 years, 3 of which Tier 4 and 5 of which Spouse Visa.

Assuming the process is fairly straight forward, once she has ILR would obtaining British Citizenship just take paying the fee, completing the Life in the UK test and applying?

If anyone could give me their advice I would greatly appreciate it.

Tier 4 student visa is irrelevant in her circumstances.

She applies for ILR using Set(M) form if she is on a spouse visa. Current cost is £2,297 by post and £2,887 for an in person same day decision appointment.

Once she has ILR and her BRP card, she can then apply for citizenship, current cost is £1,282.

She requires LIUK for both ILR and citizenship applications.

All fees going up between 15% and 20% every year in the beginning of April.

Once my Girlfriend has obtained British Citizenship, if we were to move to the USA would she get in any trouble in the UK for gaining dual nationality UK&US and leaving the country to peruse her life in the USA?

Hi,

My fiancé is on a Tier 4 Student Visa, and we are wanting to get married before December this year (2018).

Our ideal date for getting married would be at the beginning of November.

I'm aware that we need to give notice and that the regular notice period before you're given permission to marry in the UK is around 30 days however I'm conscious that this may be extended to 90 days. Would it be wise to give notice 3 months before November, therefore in August?

Also if I was to be granted permission how long would I have to get married? I've heard somewhere that you need to get married during 30 days after you are granted permission?

Any help would be much appreciated.
