How to select the correct visa

Post by DaveMWilliam » Tue Jan 02, 2018 11:55 am

Hi, this is my first post here, thanks for having me.

I have what may sound like a stupid question:

My fiancee, from India, is needing to apply to come to live with me in the UK.

Trying to select which form to use on the online tool, and we are confused, because there is no option for Fiancee.

Settlement>Settlement> (there is no fiancee option here)

Are we looking in the wrong place?

Should we be selecting "unmarried partner" or "marriage" options instead.

Thanks in advance.

This is of course assuming you are planning to marry in the UK and not in India. She will get a 6 month visa and must marry within that time and once married apply for a spouse visa on form FLR(M).

You're welcome. Feel free to post any further queries you have in this topic.

Relationship to sponsor for fiancee

Post by DaveMWilliam » Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:36 am

Hi everyone

Me and my Fiancee have question:

When applying for a visa for my Fiancee to come and settle with me in the UK, there is a question asked on the form, in the "Sponsor Details" section, it asks "Relationship to Sponsor". I am my fiancee's sponsor. But "Fiancee" is not an option. There is "Partner", "Spouse", "Other relative" and some others which do not apply.

Which is the correct option she should choose for her sponsor being me, her fiancé ?

Thanks in advance ladies and gents.

One more question (sorry)

We are looking into the form "Appendix 2 of VAF4A: financial requirements" - which we understand we need to complete as she is applying from outside the UK.

It asks for question 1.9 about marriage in the UK. I know that we must marry in the UK within the 6 months and we are considering May 2018, but an exact date for this has not been set. Does the form require an exact date, or is May 2018 enough for them.

Thanks again

May 2018 should be sufficient.

Hi again, one more question

We have submitted the application, she has been to her interview appointment, submitted the documents and given her biometrics.

Is there any way of tracking the status of the application ?

Thanks in advance
