BC for child(UK BORN) Indian passport is expiring but visa valid

Post by rr17kky » Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:56 am

Dear All,
Please can someone suggest.

Me,my wife and our child (BORN IN UK) are on tier 2 and tier 2 dependent visas.
Our ILR is due NOV 18.
1)do we have to apply ILR for all of us together or just me and my wife and the child can apply for BC once me and my wife get ILR ?
2)Our child's Indian passport is expiring on 7/10/18 , but his tier 2 dependent visa is valid till 30/12/18.
do we have to apply for his Indian passport renewal before applying BC?
many thanks in advance.your help would be much appreciated.

1. If you plan on registering the child as British then no need to apply for ILR. If you have potential travel plans and the current visa is not valid for long enough, you should apply for ILR.

2. No.

Kindly ask your ILR questions in the ILR sub forum (click) and your child citizenship questions in the British Citizenship sub forum (click), as this is not the correct sub forum for these questions.
