what visa does Spouse of a tier 2 holder need to apply for to study in the UK?

Post by farazsiddiqui » Fri Jan 19, 2018 3:05 pm

Hi there,
I am a tier 2 visa holder whose wife and kid are still in my home country. My wife is applying for admission to universities in the UK, however we are not sure which visa category would she fall under if she gets selected. will she have to apply for a tier 2 dependent visa, or a tier 4 student visa to come to the UK?

Also, can anyone provide the details of documentations required in such a case?
thanks!

She can study full time on a tier 2 dependent visa.

She can apply for a tier 4 if she qualifies, but tier 4 does not lead to ILR based on 5 years residence.
