Tier 2 General switching employer

Post by pvenkatkrishna » Wed Jan 24, 2018 9:44 am

Current situation:

I am currently in U.K. and found a new job with a new employer with a new Cos.

I'm struck by the following doubts and any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Question 1: With the new Cos, do I have to make a new Tier 2 General Visa application? (New/Extend/switch)

Question 2: In country do we have to pay NHS surcharge insurance? (No IHS fee at my first visa)

Question 3: my wife is on a Tier 2 dependant visa which is valid until 2020. Do I have to apply for her visa again?

Question 4: My daughter was born a year ago in the U.K. Do I have to apply Visa for her too? (now hold Indian passport but no visa as off now)

Kind Regards,
Soma

Q1 - Yes you have to make a new application to extend with a new employer/sponsor.

Q2 - Yes you have to pay IHS.

Q3 - No.

Q4 - Yes if you have travel plans. When do you qualify for ILR and do you plan on registering child as British?

Thanks for the quick response admin.

the answer to Q4 is: yes, the child's birth is registered in U.K. And we have a birth certificate too.

No plans to travel in the next 2 years.

Kind Regards,
Soma.

I am eligible for ILR on 2nd March 2020 ( first entry on 3rd March 2015).

Could you please help me understand little more about your comment below?

"do you plan on registering child as British?"

Kind Regards,
Soma.

I did not ask if the child's birth is registered in the UK did I. I ask 1) when do you qualify for ILR and 2) do you plan on applying to register the child as a British Citizen.

Answer: eligible for ILR 2nd March 2020

Regarding child: yes, when I apply for ILR. I will apply for British passport directly.

Currently, she has an Indian passport but no dependant visa.

Regards,
Soma.
