APPLYING A BRITISH PASSPORT FOR A TODDLER LIVING IN ZIMBABWE BORN TO BRITISH FATHER LIVING IN THE UK

Post by MARY JANE » Fri Jan 26, 2018 12:51 pm

Good day,

i am the mother to a 1 year old boy who was born in Zimbabwe to a British father and non- British mother.
Therefore I BELIEVE my son is a British citizen by DESCENT.
From the posts i have read here,i now know that to Apply for the child's passport,it can take up to a year and ALSO it can require more documentation than that stated on the requirements website ALSO i do not need to register the child's birth in the UK,i have an option of applying for the passport without registering him.i stand to be corrected where i am wrong.

My question is,how do Apply for my child's passport that is the steps THAT I NEED TO TAKE and also what is the best way to get a UK passport for my son QUICKLY with less challenges.
ALSO,can the passport be applied by the father who is living in the UK?

PS ; my son and i (the non-British mother) live in Zimbabwe and will be applying from Zimbabwe,my son.s British father lives in the UK.

You will need his proof of citizenship to apply for a passport and as you are not married, likely a DNA test to prove he is the father.
