Status of application

Post by Sammy68 » Mon Jan 29, 2018 10:00 pm

I applied for an Indefinite leave to remain visa last year April. I promptly received a letter, back then last year, saying it was going to take longer than normal. But, it has been almost a year now, and nothing. I used to be able to track it, but can't seem to now. Have they changed their tracking? Should I contact somebody, or just keep waiting?
Cheers!

you can, my all means, contact them by phone, via email or write to them. No one can tell you exactly how long your application will take. The online tracking has stopped working since December last year.

There is no way to find the status of your application.
Contacting UKVI directly gets you the same generic response.
Official communication will be via post. You need to wait to hear back

Right to abode while waiting for decision

Post by Sammy68 » Mon Mar 12, 2018 5:18 pm

Who, or how, can I contact someone about a letter, or email, saying I have the right to abode here while I am awaiting a decision? I need to give such said letter to landlord.

Note that "Right of Abode" is a specific statutory category that you don't have.

However, if you made a valid in-time application, then your leave is treated as continuing after its expiry date under Section 3C.

Your landlord should be able to confirm this.
