Child born in UK before either parents had ILR

Post by LawrenceCh » Wed Jan 31, 2018 3:19 pm

Hello, my daughter was born in the UK and she is now 8 yo.
At the time of her birth neither me or her mum had the ILR.
I obtained mine in 2011 and her mum got the British Citizenship in 2016.
I want now to apply for citizenship for both me and my daughter.

My question is, do I need to apply for the ILR fist for my daughter, or she can get the citizenship without having the ILR?

No

Yes. She could have applied for citizenship as soon as you got ILR in 2011.
