Hello,
I hope this is the right place to be posting this. I am in absolute shock right now. With a lot of feelings I find very hard to put into words. My wife and I found out yesterday that we were refused our application for VAF family based immigration.
We’ve been together for close to 10 years. We’ve been married for 7 years this year. I lived in the States for 5 of those. After coming back to the UK it’s taken me almost 1.5 years to become stable enough to apply and set everything up for us. She’s come over from the US a few times. We are both very tired, and so hurt by this.
I don’t know what to do.
We have 28 days to appeal this decision. I don’t even know what my rights are at this point. We were refused for financial reasons, because I didn’t include bank statements to show that my included payslips were being paid into my account, the refusal notice mentions childrens consideration but we don’t have any. I included 3 official letters from my employer stating how I was employed and how my wage broke down. I far exceed the financial requirement by more than double.
I read online that it was optional to include the statements and at this point I can’t remember why we didn’t just do it. But I wish we had and I’d be seeing my wife next month. I am thinking about seeking legal advice but have no idea where to start. I don’t know if we should appeal or even how to. I’ve read on here yesterday that you can reapply. But I am scared that they’ll come back with something else other than the statements. I am willing to expedite and pay whatever it takes.
What am I supposed to do? I want my family back.
Please help, thank you so much.
