Applying for U.K. Visitors visa

Post by tribalgirl » Sat Feb 03, 2018 6:07 pm

Hello,

I am planning to apply for a UK Visitors visa for my mum to join me here in June . She currently stays in US and is a green card holder . I wanted to ask you is it best if she applies for the visa herself or best if I send the documents from here . And in both cases what documents are required to apply for the visa .

Just to let you know , she is currently not working and stays with my sister .

Thanks & Regards

What evidence of her ties to the US will she show?

She needs to convince the ECO that she is a genuine visitor and will leave the UK. They expect to see evidence of her employment, income, property, family ties etc.

How long is she planning on visiting?

Thanks for your reply . The only evidence she can show is that she has family back in US . Like I said before that she stays with my sister and is a Green card holder . She will be visiting us for 6 months .

6 months is 'residing' not 'visiting'.

Has she visited the UK before with a visitor visa?

With only 'family in the US' as evidence of ties, her application is very weak.
