Advice needed

Post by Tallpaul400 » Sat Feb 03, 2018 6:26 pm

Hi,

My wife and I live in the UK. My wife is Filipino and has a spouse visa a d has recently been granted FLR. We applied for her son to join us in August but as yet have heard nothing. I have called the UKVI hotline and escalated the case. I have spoken to our local MP and asked him to write a letter on our behalf. Can anyone suggest anything else I can possibly do to try and get some answers on what is happening?

Any advice at this stage is much appreciated.

How old is the child?

Where is the other parent?

Did she submit evidence of sole responsibilty?

What date did her last visa expire?

Why apply for the child when wife did not already have her extension?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

The child is 8. The father is not in his life, when he was born the father went to court to say that he wasn't his. My wife applied with the evidence that the father is not around and has not seen him in over 7 years and with the court docs to show he didn't want to take responsibility. She tried to track him down before we applied but couldn't find him.

Her visa expired in November last year and she was granted FLR in the first week of Jan.

Her extension was granted very quickly.

You should have applied for the child after your wife got her extension.

Now that the application is in is there anyway of chasing this through? My wife has had her extension granted now so surely that can't be a reason for delay anymore??

You applied for the child outside the UK 3 months before her visa expired.

Are you sure there has been no communication regarding the child's visa??

We have had no contact, my solicitor has had no response and no one in Manila has either. We applied using my solicitor and we have had confirmation that all documents were received in Sheffield. The bio data was all taken in Manila back in August but none of us have had any correspondence since then.
