Financial requirement for spouse visa with a gap in employment

Post by Alos » Sun Feb 11, 2018 8:11 pm

Thank you knowledgable members of the board for your help. Can you please advice on this situation.
The applicant is applying for a spouse visa entry clearance from abroad. The applicant's husband lives in the UK and meets all the requirements but has doubts on the financial requirement. He has been in employment for the same employer for the last few years and earns 30,000£ but he has resigned from his job and started another permanent job with a better pay with another employer but there is a gap of one month between the two jobs in which he was unemployed. He has been working for two months in his new job.
1) Under which category should he apply and how many pay slips and bank statements does he need to provide?
2) Does he need to wait 6 months in his new employment before he can apply?
Thanks

Category B seems more fit here but for that the sponsor need to fullfil two parts:

1. The sponsor must have earned at least £18600 during the last 12 months from application.

2. Secondly (if fixed wages/salaried person) then the sponsor must have at least annual wages of £18600 which can be evidenced by employer letter;

Or (if variable wages/non-salaried person) then the accumulation average of all jobs held during the last 6 months be around £9300.

In category B the 12 months of payslips and bank statements will be required.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thanks Seagul for you help. The sponsor can satisfy the 2 conditions that you mentioned if there is no problem with the period that he was unemployed during that 12 months.
