marriage visa

Post by mando112 » Wed Feb 14, 2018 1:07 pm

All,

I am going into a new relationship and having been burned by previous one on finances, I want to be very careful

can I apply for someone to be here with me on marriage visitor visa and sponsering all of their costs rather than them proofing they will support themselves ?
https://www.gov.uk/marriage-visa

I know if this leads to marriage then they will have to leave the uk and apply again which is fine .

now on a more serious note, I want them to received legal advice here and then sign pre-nup marriage contract so to protect my assets and not have the same horrible experience I had before.
I suppose when they go back then I can apply for marriage visa with intention of registring it here within 6 month so in that 6 month they can see solicitors and then sign the pre-nup ?

Why not simply apply for the fiance visa, then get married and switch to spouse visa??

This has nothing to do with immigration and visas. Nothing prevents a person on a visitor visa seeing a solicitor.

would you apply for visitor visa or fiance/marraige visa ?

it seems to make more sense if you do apply for marriage fiance visa as that be extended inside of the uk
what do you need to show to proof she is your fiance?
telephone calls or what ?

All the same evidence you would need for a spouse visa plus evidence of wedding plans in progress. The fiance visa costs £1,464 currently (goes up in April).

Marriage visitor visa = +/- £85 (as a visit visa category) and is mainly for people who only want to marry in the UK but NOT settle/live etc.

so what so you need to show for spouse apart from saying you want to marry her and also have the means such as place and income

If it is that then I might get it on marriage visa with intention of marrying her here within 6 month as per the guidlines and book it with local counsil in the next 6 month hence that is an evidence right ?

Evidence that you have met and evidence of subsisting relationship (communications etc).
