Number of days out for British spouse visa extension

Post by pancret » Mon Oct 23, 2017 9:41 am

Hi everyone

Can someone please shed some light on my query; I'm a British citizen and my wife is on spouse visa. We have a British son as well born in UK.

My wife will be applying for her first spouse visa extension and I was just wandering is there any condition for her for the days limit out from the UK. I'm concerned because she was out for a continuous period of 9 months just to take care of her mum. Now she needs to go again for 2 months before getting the visa extension.

Looking forward to get some advises. Many thanks

There is no absence limit for spouse visa holders.

As long as you can show your intention to carry on living with your wife in the UK, there is nothing to worry about.

Ilets for Spouse visa extension

Post by pancret » Thu Oct 26, 2017 11:58 am

Hi

Can someone please advice, my wife will be applying for her spouse visa extension. She needs to pass her Ilets exam level A2 to get her an extension. We were thinking how about if she go for level B1 straightaway and skip A2 exam so she can use B1 for her settlement application in future.

She did ESOL before coming to UK though...

Looking forward to hear some views on this. Many thanks

She can do B1 if she wishes as long as it is form an HO approved test provider. No one can tell you however if B1 will still be the requirement for ILR in 2.5/3 years time.

ESOL is no longer accepted.

Thanks Casa sooooo much

One more question which I forgot to ask; what sort of evidences do we need and how many to show that me and my wife are living together. Do we also need them to show for 6 months.

Thanks once again

You MUST provide at least 6 pieces of evidence such as bills, correspondence, Council tax statement, GP registration etc in JOINT names, If you don't have 6 in joint names you should submit 6 each in single names.

These MUST cover the full 2.5 year period. As a general guidance one (or two) examples every 4-5 months.

I suggest you read through the FLR(M) application form thoroughly. Everything is listed there.

passport validity for spouse visa extension

Post by pancret » Fri Feb 16, 2018 3:25 pm

Hi everyone

I'm just having a question regarding passport validity requirement for my wife's spouse visa extenstion.
We will be applying in person next month but i have just realised now that her passport will be expiring soon.

So probably on the day of our appointment only 2 months of her passport's validity will be left.
Will it be enough validity to obtain her a spouse visa extention or should I get her a new passport before the appointment.

Can someone pls shed some light on this query. Thanks in advance

It needs to be valid at time of application.

There is no requirement for it to be valid for x months or years.
