Spouse visa application/ Worked only 6 months

Post by moonlight82 » Mon Feb 19, 2018 1:06 pm

Good Afternoon All,

On of my family friends wants to sponsor his wife to be settled in the uk.
He is a British citizen.

last two years he did not work and he is working for last six months and making £19000 Per year.
( No Child)

Can he / His wife apply for spouse visa?

His pay slip shows £0 tax deduction as he does not reach his tax free allowance.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thank you all,

Under CAT A HO only care about last 6 months of work not last 2 years so it doesn't matter if he hasn't worked 2 years.

Provided he has been employed has by same workplace at least last 6 months and he has 6 months worth of payslips he can Apply under CAT A. Make sure his gross pay is not lower than £1550 on any of these 6 payslips.
Make sure payslips are backed with a employee letter, contract and bank statements all covering specified period and are not dated no older than 28 days to your date of online application submission.

Still the tax shouldn't be shown as 0 regardless you haven't worked previously because under UK tax system even someone start working now then they convert each weekly/fortnightly/monthly wages into annual wages for the purpose of tax. So if it's 0 tax then the employer is not bonafide.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Thank you- Londoner007 & Segul,
he is paid weekly and weekly wages changes depending on hours is worked, but monthly total gross cross £1550.

I am not sure why the company doesn't deduct the tax and NI. The company is well known and authen
Can he do anything to make make sure company cut the tax?

He already request them and they said this year he wont cross personal allowance and this is why they are not cutting tax & NI.

Thank you again,

Was he unemployed i.e. claiming job seekers allowance for exmaple last 2 years?

Perhaphs getting proof he wasnt working and old P60 can add to evidence of why no tax paid. Maybe also a letter from employer explaining why no tax deducted in payslip too.
