My partner will be applying for a SET(M) after 5 years of holding a spouse visa later in the year. My partner has regular salaried employment over £18600 per year. We also plan to have over that in cash savings this year.
I have been the director of my own company for the last year and a bit, paying a combination of salary (probably under £18600 this tax year ending in April, and there was a gap in payments due to sickness) to myself and dividend to us both (as we are equal shareholders). My total income is over £18600.
My question is, as you can't combine limited company directorship with savings (Appendix FM 1.7: Financial Requirement, 9.3.11), is it better to just not bother with my income on the form and rely on savings and my partner's (the applicant's) salary plus dividend income?
