Tier4 (student) to Tier 2(General)dependent and again to Tier 4 (Student)

Post by Maria_G » Thu Feb 22, 2018 11:28 am

Hello,

I am Phd student in UK. I have already completed 12 moth of my study and I want to shift to my husband Tier 2(General) visa, take an official break from studies and to do an internship this summer in the company. I will need to shift to Tier 4 (student) visa again, after internship is ended. Is it possible to do all visa movements within UK? I know that we can shift to Tier 2 (general) dependent visa if as a PhD student I have compiled 12 month of my study without leaving UK. This works for me. Is it possible to shift back to Tier 4 (student) visa without leaving UK at the end?

Thank you. I would really appreciate the help.

Cheers.

No. If your husband needs to make a Tier 2 application, he must do that in his home home country. See https://www.gov.uk/tier-2-general/switch-to-this-visa

No, that would be if you were switching to Tier 2 (General) yourself. If your husband has Tier 2 (General) leave, you can switch to PBS Dependant any time.

In addition to sah10406's advice, you can of course also study while on a tier 2 dependent visa. There is no requirement that you must be on a student visa.
