ILR Questions?

Post by krssubbu » Mon Feb 26, 2018 2:34 pm

Hello
I have a few queries regarding BRP application form

I am on ILR visa since 2012 and eligible to apply for BRP. My wife and child came to the UK in 2014

Questions:

1. can my wife and child apply along with me for British Passport?

2. I am filling out the form and have the following questions:
Form AN1
Section 1.50 - I am self employed so do i list the clients i worked for?
Section 3.15 - I have parking fine which section do i declare this?

3. Form MN1
3.3 and 3.5 - are these parents absences? do i need to fill these again?

Thanks

BRP application form? I assume you mean application form for British citizenship :?:

Your wife and child need to be granted ILR before qualifying for British citizenship. If you child was born outside of the UK, they will follow the same immigration path as your wife and won't yet qualify for a MN1 application.

(The passport application is a separate process from the BC application).

No change to the answers provided when you asked similar question in June 2017.

It’s by discretion. So, both may be possible. But it’s easier when both child and mother have ILR.

Call centre is a third party agent as far as we understand, well known for giving out incorrect information.
I understand i am not british yet but i am applying for one so can she not apply with me?
Yes, if she has 5 years residence.
for child, I am told 3 years need to be on ILR - is this right?
Nonsense. Who told you that??

As you all hold ILR (you since 2012, wife/child since 2014), you can all apply at the same time.

oh, so its not 5 year ILR residence is it?

calling the call centre is so confusing - they told 5 years on ILR!!!!....so i will apply at the same time

1. For myself - i did my masters in the UK - which box do i select for chosing my english language
2. For mt wife - she has done her bachelors/masters outside UK but thought in English (in India) - does she need to produce UK NARIC? she didnt have to do it for her ILR

3. Section 1.50 - I am self employed so do i list the clients i worked for?
5. Section 3.15 - I have parking fine which section do i declare this?

5. Form MN1
3.3 and 3.5 - are these parents absences? do i need to fill these again?

No, it is 5 years residence (for adults), 2 years residence for older children (teenagers). All with the own separate application form (AN for adults, MN1 for children).

Depends how you asked and what they heard.
1. For myself - i did my masters in the UK - which box do i select for chosing my english language
Quoted below.
I have obtained an original degree certificate that was taught or researched in a majority
English speaking country and:
• an Academic Qualification Level Statement (AQUALS) from UK NARIC confirming the
qualification is equivalent to a UK qualification
2. For mt wife - she has done her bachelors/masters outside UK but thought in English (in India) - does she need to produce UK NARIC? she didnt have to do it for her ILR
She needs NARIC.
3. Section 1.50 - I am self employed so do i list the clients i worked for?
No, your Ltd company??
5. Section 3.15 - I have parking fine which section do i declare this?
Was it a court conviction?
5. Form MN1
3.3 and 3.5 - are these parents absences? do i need to fill these again?
Section 3 is NOT relevant to your childs application.

Thanks a lot for clarification

I understand she needs NARIC but does she need to get one as she didnt ahve to when she applied for ILR

Regarding the parking fine, i paid off (had 3 parking tickets and 1 bus lane in last 5 years) that i paid off - should I need to mention this? if yes which section?

does section 2.3 (MN1) form need to be filled for my child?
