Travel while acquiring citizenship

Hi, I am due to get my British passport after my citizenship application in three weeks but I need to travel urgently to india. I won't have time to apply for a visa to india, my question is can I travel on my Indian passport. If yes, when entering and exiting the uk what passport should I show.

Leaving UK for India on an Indian passport shouldn't be an issue.

If you haven't returned your ILR after the ceremony, you may use it to get back to UK. Else, someone would have to post or bring your British passport to be able to enter UK again, assuming you leave before getting hold of it.
