Expired ICT Dependent to General

Post by VinUKGK » Wed Feb 21, 2018 11:05 pm

Hi All,

Request your valuable advise on my situation.

I am on Tier 2 ICT LT visa and my spouse is on Tier 2 ICT LT Dependent Visa. My employment with my firm is coming to an end in March 2018 after which we will return to India.
My wife's employer has agreed to sponsor the General visa, but since we are expecting our baby in August 2018, we wanted to make the application by end of 2018.
Will there be any difference in process if we are filing Tier-2 General now before ICT expires vs. after it has expired?

Many thanks for your response in advance.

Tier2 General Visa: Entry Period

Post by VinUKGK » Sun Mar 04, 2018 10:00 am

Dear friends,

I am applying for General Tier2 visa from India (COS valid till Jun 2018). Since I am expecting my second child (due August), would not be able to travel after visa stamping immediately.
Can you please let me know if it is possible to travel later than 4 months after visa is granted?
What is the exact period of time before which you need to enter?

I am applying for visa under the COS available with employer which is valid between Mar-Jun.

Many thanks for your inputs.

What is your job start date per CoS? Are you stating a future date in your visa application?? You can only ask for a visa to be post dated by up to 3 months otherwise you would need to apply for a new 30 day visa vignette which costs almost £200 at the moment.
What is the exact period of time before which you need to enter?
You only get a 30 day visa vignette in your passport and you should enter the UK during the 30 days and collect your BRP card at the Post Office within 10 days.

I'm assuming that you are now posting as the wife? How will your new baby enter the UK?

If you were previously employed in the UK by the Tier 2 sponsor, how will you prove that you haven't been pre-selected for the role and that the full RMLT has been carried out correctly. :?:

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.

Hi Casa,

We didn't want to create another account as the application is still the same. Hope my previous response was adequate.
