Spouse visa online & procedure confusion

Is there any guidance filling up online application? eg wife in UK, husband overseas.

1) Apply for myself / apply for someone else.
confused here. Is it wife applying for her husband (apply for someone else) or the husband himself (apply for myself)

2) Visa type
settlement/settlement/husband? or settlement/settlement/wife?

3) Section: Spouse/Partner
guessing wife's details here. But then who's parents details needed here (wife's or husband's)

4) Employment
again wife's or husband's?

As per common sense the partner who is settled and living in UK wishing to sponsor his/her partner from abroad actually for himself don't need visa but it's overseas partner need visa who will be the applicant. So by keeping in mind as who is the applicant and who is the sponsor the application form should be filled.

Hi all,

Thought better to start new thread for quick response. I'm still confused by the actual procedure of online application and how/when/who will submit documents to where.

We've already completed online form. Now the question is what documents do we need from HK for UK sponsor to send to Home Office? Can anyone post some procedure how these are all done.
