Spouse Visa Extension - FLR(M) - The big picture?

Post by mindlesslycomplex » Mon Mar 05, 2018 2:13 pm

My wife entered the UK on a spouse visa granted in 2015 and it is due to expire in April.

When we complete FLR(M) are we expected to provide the same information that was initially provided in the original visa application?

The full list of the required documents is on page 64 of the FLR(M) application form.
Includes:
A2 level English from a HO approved test/test provider
£500 NHS surcharge in addition to the visa fee.
Evidence in joint names of co-habitation, spread as evenly as possible over the 2.5 years period.
Financial evidence that you meet the minimum income level of £18,600 p.a
Adequate accommodation
(Casa, not CR001)

Yes, the form is fairly clear on what is required and all the same requirements need to be met for the extension. Only English level changed though, A2 required not A1.

The form tells you exactly what HO expect to see.

Edit : beaten by Casa (for a change)

Thanks. FLR(M) is clearer than the online application.

In section 13(B) - Spouses and civil partners - "If you are applying for a first extension of stay as a spouse or civil partner" - then provide marriage certificate / decree absolut etc .

Is an extension of a spouse visa a first extension or is this question really asking for certificates in the case of a Finance visa becoming a Spouse visa?

i.e. we'd provided certificates earlier in order to receive a spouse visa. Do they really need this again?
