How do I need to have been working in the UK? Spouse visa

Post by Ross1978 » Mon Mar 05, 2018 9:19 pm

Hi guys,

My wife is here on a visit visa and will go back to Indonesia next month to apply for a spouse visa. I have been working for the same employer earning in excess of the financial requirement.

I am thinking about moving to a different company (will still be in excess of the FR). My question is does it matter if I change employer right before her application?

I have been looking at the application form. It seems much more straightforward and less questions if you have been with same employer for over 6 months.

If my salary is looked at over the last 12 months then I probably wouldn't meet the requirement. It's only since I moved back to the UK (7 months ago) that I have met the FR.

Please help, it's very confusing.
Cheers.

Preferably stay with present employer until the application will be finalized through category A. Otherwise you will have to rely on category B where you have to meet requirement by two ways. Firstly have earned £18600 during the last 12 months and secondly the average total of last 6 months should be at least £9300 (non-salaried) or £18600 per annum at the time of application (salaried person).
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
