** Urgent BRP Lost Abroad - Need to travel back **

Hi

I need some urgent help my wife is currently in Pakistan and is due to fly back on 10th March to the UK. She lost her BRP over there and needs to travel back with it to the UK.

It also expires on the 21st of March as we were going to do a postal application once she got back.

What can we do please help ?

I feel for you mate!! Make sure to report card lost/stolen and fill in the form on VisaUK portal and contact your local Ukivisa office asap.

If your BRP was lost, stolen or damaged outside the UK
You can’t apply for a replacement BRP outside the UK.

You’ll need a ‘replacement BRP visa’ which lets you re-enter the UK once only - you must apply online in most countries. It costs £169.

You must apply for a replacement BRP within 1 month of your return to the UK.

Thanks for the replies - does anyone know how it would work with the replacement brp visa because I cant travel back with the return ticket and what if the brp expires while lost ?

Very unlikely you will get a replacement before expiry in March.
You probably gonna have to make entry clearence application.
Best if you can find the old BRP.

you will receive entry clearance for 30 days and when you get to the UK you will get a replacement.

Hi she has a valid return ticket for 10th March which is before her brp expires we have made an application for a single entry visa but that can take up to 15 days to process - that will crossover with the brp expiry date that shouldnt be a problem should it because its the authorities that are taking the extra time ?

There may problems if her BRP expires before they grant the replacement. I don’t see how a replacement may expire later than the original. She may have to apply for a new entry clearance.

What is your status?

Perhaps she should ask her airline to get authorization for her to travel on 10 March?

She will not be allowed to board without a valid visa - the airline have advised that she apply for a single entry BRP visa because she has lost her card. She will now have to reschedule her flight while she waits for the single entry visa which will be valid for 30 days.

If the airline won’t help, then use the contact details yourself to try and get authorization for her to travel.

Giving the circumstances of the case and the fact that at the time of the application, she had a valid BRP, I believe justice will require them to issue an entry visa for how short a period, to enable to reach the UK and make an application.

I am clearly not saying you are wrong or I am right, but it is clearly a preposition that the court may consider as arguable.
