Can company demand visa expenses after visa expired?

My visa (Tier 2 General) is due to expire in 3.5 months and I'm not going to extend it with current employee as I've found another job. I have an agreement with my current company that I'll pay all expenses they made for me if I'll change my job to another company.
Could they demand these expenses if my visa will expired?
What is the best way to avoid it?

Yes they could if this is what you agreed to as a term of employment.

This is between you and your employer and not an immigration related issue though.

Is your current employer an proper sponsor, i.e. not an umbrella or third party company contracting you out??

Yes my company is a proper sponsor, not a third party.
But if my visa will be expired doesn't that mean that contract and all agreements will expire too?

Presumably you are changing employers and applying for a new visa BEFORE your current visa expires??

This is not an immigration query, you have signed an agreement with your employer and that contract is binding on you.
