Help with MN1 form

Post by Andrew56 » Tue Mar 13, 2018 10:56 am

Hi everyone.
I just filling MN1 form for my son.
I have been in UK since 2004 and my son was born in the UK in 2008.
I became British citizen in 2013.
Q1.3 should I write son's date of birth?
Q2.1 son's date of birth and place?
Section 3
Mn1 guide says: If the application is for a child born abroad, to parents who are British citizen by descent under section 3(2) or 3(5) you must complete this section, otherwise go straight to section 4.

My son was born in UK should I go to section 4 or do I have to fill questions 3.13 to 3.15?

Thank you for your help.
Andrew

Q1.3 should I write son's date of birth?
Leave blank
Q2.1 son's date of birth and place?
Yes
Section 3
Mn1 guide says: If the application is for a child born abroad, to parents who are British citizen by descent under section 3(2) or 3(5) you must complete this section, otherwise go straight to section 4.
Section 3 is not relevant to you/your son.
My son was born in UK should I go to section 4 or do I have to fill questions 3.13 to 3.15?
If you are an EU citizen and followed the EU route, then yes, complete as required (as far as I understand).

Since 2013 I have got dual citizenship Polish and British.
I understand that if I became British by naturalization in 2013 I had to meet residency requirements and I already exercised treaty rights.
So that's why Q3-13 - 3.15 confused me.
Anyway I can fill questions 3.13 - 3.15. I have been in employment since 2004 with no breaks.

Many thanks.
Andrew
