Dear all,
I have recently applied (21/02) for BC through NCS and everything seems fine so far. I received the acknowledgement letter and the biometric enrolment last week. I did the biometric last Tuesday so fingers crossed for a quick and positive outcome. However, I'm very concerned about receiving essential HO's communications via Second Class mail which is neither tracked nor signed for. I find this quite stressful because I live in a converted flat. Therefore, letters and parcels are delivered through the main door which means that the other people living in the building can have access to my mail and pick it up (or throw it away) by mistake. Furthermore, in the last six months, a couple of letters have gone missing (still don't know where they ended up). I was keeping an eye on the biometric letter because I knew more or less when it would arrive, but I cannot do the same other communications such as further requests of information or the approval letter. Leaving aside any personal consideration on a frankly outdated and totally inadequate means of communication, I was wondering whether there are any safeguards against these potential issues. Do you believe that I could write to the HO and ask if I could be notified via email should a letter be sent to my address? Any other advice would be welcomed. Thanks a lot.
