Citizenship application- T2 Dependent Child

Post by Aarav123 » Fri Mar 16, 2018 2:02 pm

Dear Sir/madam,

I hold an ILR granted to me in March 2017 via the T2 general route. My son was born in UK but while I hold T2 Visa.

He is eligible for UK citizenship as I now hold ILR and since he is born in UK. But his T2 dependant visa has expired in Feb 2018. I shall be making an application via NDRS for both citizenship and Passport.

I wanted to check if this is an issue(T2 Dependant expired) for my son if we are making a citizenship application. Is anything different I need to mentioned on MN2 form for him?

Thanks for your help!

A UK born child is entitled to register and does not require valid leave.

Thanks,

I read another thread where this was rejected :

uk-tier-1-general-visas/uk-born-child-i ... 42066.html

Also, sir you have mentioned that

"My son didn't have any VISA prior to the failed ILR application. Does that affect the other answers?"
The the refusal is likely correct as he had no 'valid leave to remain'.

Is this not the situation similar to mine?

Thanks,

The user in that topic had a failed ILR application NOT a British citizenship one. Different rules.

A UK born child has an entitlement to register (i.e. cannot be refused).
