Spouse and Stepchild Applications - who is the sponsor

I am in the process of researching the various application forms and appendices. For my wife (outside UK) its clear that she needs to complete the online application (she is in Manila) and Appendix 2 and I am the sponsor she refers to.

We are going to apply for her daughter at the same time and I understand she also needs a separate application.

Do we use the same Appendix 2 or do we need 1 for each application and in the case of my step daughter I am the sponsor for here too. Or his her mother the sponsor in Appx 2.

I know this may have been asked but interested in hearing from successful applicants who can confirm.

Yes she lives alone with my stepdaughter and has sole responsibility. The father has not been around since he knew she was pregnant and is not named on the BC and has never had any involvement in the childs upbringing which is fairly common in the Philippines.

She has a Solo Parent ID from the local Barangay has confirmation from the property management company of her apartment that they live alone together and is getting the same from her school (she is 6).

I'm still assuming I am the sponsor in the stepchilds Appx 2 or should this be the Mum?

Can I ask how you filled the online form out? I am applying for my husband and stepson, who is 5, but I can not understand what I choose in the drop down menu. Also do I choose applying for someone else when I am doing my stepson's?
