Query for Tier 2 dependant

Post by Et1234 » Sun Mar 18, 2018 3:16 pm

Hi
My 18 yo son is applying ILR with us as a family together in March 18.
He is my Tier 2 dependant and I have a query on SET (O) form page 76 about His Finances.
The form states that
"Evidence of your finances. If you have to complete section 5, bank statements, building society savings book(s), pay slips or other formal documents as evidence of your ability to maintain and accommodate yourself and any dependants without recourse to public funds"

He is in FT education doing 6th Form, not working, living with us and I basically
give him allowances sometimes for expenses and spending.

In view of this, what does he need to provide evidences of his finances? If he needs not to, he shall just write N/A for this question?

In Section 5 (p.17) - section 5.4 - should I say whether I (as parents) give him money? Should I tick 'No' to align with the section above

Thanks
Ed

If he doesn't have a job etc and is wholly dependent on you, then he clearly doesn't have 'evidence of his finances'.

If you give him 'pocket money', simply state this in the 5.4.
