Switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General Dependant

Post by kiran2018 » Sun Mar 25, 2018 4:09 pm

Hi,
I am on Tier 2 ICT visa (issued after 2013). My son is dependent on me.
I want to switch from Tier 2 ICT to Tier 2 General dependent. My wife has Tier 2 General visa.
My wife's visa is sponsored by her employer.

I have few questions mentioned below:

1. What is the procedure to switch from Tier 2 ICT(main candidate) as well as Tier 2 ICT (dependent) to Tier 2 General ?
2. What are the documents needed , for me , my son?
3. Do my wife/or her employer need to provide any document ?
4. Do I need to inform my employer prior to submitting the application form?
5. What will be the cost and duration for standard application?

Thanks
Kiran

1. What is the procedure to switch from Tier 2 ICT(main candidate) as well as Tier 2 ICT (dependent) to Tier 2 General ?
Complete the online tier 2 dependent form, provide the evidence required.
2. What are the documents needed , for me , my son?
https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... 2-2018.pdf
3. Do my wife/or her employer need to provide any document ?
Not your spouse's employer no. Your wife yes.
4. Do I need to inform my employer prior to submitting the application form?
No. You need to inform your employer AFTER you get the dependent visa. Your ICT visa will be cancelled once dependent visa is granted.
5. What will be the cost and duration for standard application?
Takes up to 8 weeks, sometimes longer if you apply by post. You can also apply in person.

Fees go up on 6th April. You will also be required to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge for both you and your son.

Premsumably the person switching to dependent visa is inside the UK as you have stated 'switching' rather than 'entry clearance from xy country'!!

Few more Queries:
1. what is the difference between Visa Premium Service and Tier2 priority Service. i have gone thru the links and what i understood that decision in premium service takes a day max but priority service may take 8-10 days but the cost of both seems same. please clarify.

2.What are the options to send/submit the documents. Do we need to submit our original passports and brp card ? again linked to Q1, in premium service i see , on the appointment day ,it will be handled in the premium service center, how it works for priority service.

3.Do we need to submit the original passport and brp of my wife, along with me and my son?
4. do we need to fill up 2 application form for me and my son(4 yrs).

sorry, 1 more query

1. while filling up the application form , there was an option to provide details of my wife's visa. but in the dropdown there was no option for Leave to Enter. the most appropriate option that we selected was Leave to remain. please confirm if that is the right option.
